Release of Version 6.2.0

Version 6.2.0 introduces a new way of handling new tabs: they open as a panel that slides up from the bottom, while the current page stays intact. It also adds a search across all settings, scan rules for scanners paired as a keyboard, direct support for Keyence scanners, and many improvements around licensing, device management and stability.

🚀 Feature	When a page opens a new tab (for example a link meant to open in a new window), it now appears as a panel that slides up from the bottom. Your sign-in is shared, so you don't have to log in again in the new panel – and device features work there just like on the main page: scans, NFC cards and on-screen keyboards always land where you are working. A back arrow in the top-left lets you step back page by page, and the X closes the panel entirely. Swipe it down (or tap next to it) and it parks as a slim bar at the bottom edge: the previous page is immediately usable again and receives scans again too, and tapping the bar brings the panel back.
🚀 Feature	Scanners paired as a keyboard can now use the same scan conversions as intent-based scanners. The feature is off by default and can be enabled in the keyboard settings. Note: while it is on, an external keyboard is not meant for free-text entry.
🚀 Feature	Keyence scanners (BT and DX series) are now supported directly – scans arrive in the app without an extra app, just like with Honeywell, CipherLab and Datalogic.
🚀 Feature	The settings now have a search. Tap the magnifier in the top right, type what you are looking for – and you immediately see every matching setting, no matter which sub-page it normally lives on. Switches and selection fields can be changed right in the result list. For entries that trigger something (for example clearing the cache), the app switches to the page they belong to and briefly highlights the entry there. Umlauts do not have to be typed exactly: both "uberlappung" and "ueberlappung" find "Überlappung".
🔵 Improvement	Changes distributed via device management (MDM) – licence, home pages, settings – now take effect while the app is running. A notice recommends a restart so that everything is applied completely.
🔵 Improvement	When keyboards are distributed via device management (MDM), your own locally created keyboards are now kept.
🔵 Improvement	When the 7-day trial period starts during initial setup, the app now says so – including the date it runs until. A reminder appears again two days before it ends. Previously the trial began and ended without a word, and the device was locked from one day to the next.
🔴 Bugfix	If a trial period starts on a device that already has a valid licence, it no longer overwrites the licence data. Previously an older licence could be lost for good this way.
🔴 Bugfix	If you stayed in the same application for a while, the device became noticeably slower with every screen change – and every server request added to it. This has been fixed: the speed now stays the same across the whole shift.
🔴 Bugfix	The loading indicator was missing when switching between screens inside an application. It now appears again and shows that something is loading.
🔴 Bugfix	The first scan after installing asks for camera access. After allowing it, the scan did not start – you had to tap the button a second time. It now continues right away, and if camera access is denied a message appears instead of nothing.
🔴 Bugfix	Tapping an email address or phone number used to open an empty white panel and nothing else. The device's email or phone app now opens directly. If no suitable app is installed, a message appears instead of a blank page.
🔴 Bugfix	Several licence problems have been fixed: on some devices the licence screen appeared on every page load even though a valid licence was present. Importing settings or applying a configuration from device management could lose a valid licence. And licences from device management are now recognized in both common formats – just like manual entry or a QR code.
🔴 Bugfix	On devices with a home-page menu set up via device management, a restart always opened the first page – now the page you last selected is kept.
🔴 Bugfix	When importing settings, scan rules and numeric values (e.g. the zoom level) could get lost or arrive damaged – this has been fixed.
🔴 Bugfix	Several problems with wearable scanners have been fixed: with a ProGlove scanner the app could crash on Android 14 and newer, the pairing dialog opened repeatedly during brief Bluetooth dropouts, and the NIMMSTA display is updated correctly again after a disconnect.
🔴 Bugfix	The bundled on-screen keyboard no longer crashes when it is used while TheFlex itself is not running in the foreground.
🔴 Bugfix	The "No connection" notice appeared in cases where the server was actually reachable – for example on a certificate error. And when switching between Wi-Fi access points, the page sometimes reloaded endlessly. Both have been fixed.
🔴 Bugfix	If the page reacted to a scanned value straight away (e.g. by submitting or reloading), the closing Enter could get lost – the barcode was in the field but nothing happened. This has been fixed.
🔴 Bugfix	Taking photos frequently could slow the app down or make it crash – the camera function now releases its memory properly.
🔴 Bugfix	On devices set to English, the app showed the old name "Flexus Mobile" instead of "TheFlex Browser".
🔴 Bugfix	On devices with an older system browser, opening a PDF left the loading animation turning forever and the document never appeared. PDFs now display normally there – and if display ever fails, an error message appears instead of an endless loading animation.
🔴 Bugfix	On some pages a scan never reached the field, yet the entry was submitted anyway – the screen moved on with an empty value. Scans now land in the field on those pages too, and if that genuinely is not possible, nothing is submitted.
🟡 Change	The app is now targeted at the current Android version (Android 16). This keeps it compatible with new devices and current app-store requirements.
